These are the questions boiler company owners ask us most often, answered plainly. If yours isn't here, call, text or email and ask. We'd rather answer a hard question before you start than after.
Frequently asked questions
How much does marketing cost for a boiler company?
Monthly plans are $2,998 for Starter, $4,498 for Growth and $8,998 for Elite. Websites start at $3,500 one-time, plus hosting from $149 a month. Prices are in Canadian dollars, before GST/HST.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
Your written proposal sets out the term and how to cancel before you commit. Our risk reversal is a 7-day free trial, no credit card and no lock-in, and anything else about terms is confirmed in that proposal.
What happens in the free trial?
For a week we look at your marketing from every side: an audit of what you run now, a speed and usability check of your website, a search review and a look at your strongest local competitors. The findings are yours to keep either way.
How soon will we get more boiler calls?
Paid search can bring calls within a couple of weeks of launch. Search visibility and content usually take three to six months to build. We'll put expected timelines in writing for your market.
We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
We can't promise it will be. What we can do is report calls, booked jobs and cost per booking every month, so you'll know quickly whether it's working, and we'll tell you if a channel isn't paying off.
Who owns the website, ad accounts and Google Business Profile?
Ownership is set out in writing in your proposal. Ask us to confirm it for each asset, and make sure you're satisfied before you sign.
Will you promise rankings or leads?
No. Nobody controls Google or your market. We show real, named results from our boiler and HVAC work and measure what we do for you openly.
How do you report results?
Starter includes monthly reporting and Growth adds weekly reporting. Elite adds a real-time dashboard and monthly strategy calls. Reports focus on calls, booked jobs and cost per booking.
Do you install or service boilers?
No. We are a marketing and business consulting service. We never install, repair, inspect or service equipment.
Is anything in your newsroom compliance advice?
No. We summarise and link official sources. Questions about how a rule applies to a specific installation belong with the regulator or a qualified professional.
How do you choose news stories?
A story needs a primary source we can load, such as a regulator's bulletin or a utility's program page, and it has to matter to boiler contractors. We use the source's own date.
Do you work with commercial boiler contractors as well as residential?
Yes. Commercial plant work needs different pages, campaigns and messaging from residential replacement, and we plan for both separately.
Do you work outside BC?
Yes. We work with boiler companies in every province and territory from our Vancouver headquarters, meeting by video call or in person as well as by phone, text and email.
Price and terms
The short answer: published prices, a free trial, and terms in writing.
Our plans and website packages are listed on the pricing page, with a worked example to test whether the numbers make sense for your average boiler job. We don't state contract terms here beyond what's in our published facts; your proposal sets them out, including how to cancel and who owns what. If something isn't written down, ask us to write it down.
Working with us
We start with a diagnosis, not a pitch. The free trial shows where your marketing loses buyers today: invisible in search, ads wasting money, a website that doesn't convert, or content that's out of date. From there we recommend the smallest plan that fixes the biggest problem.
You'll talk to a senior strategist, not a sales team. Our services page explains the four kinds of work we do for boiler companies, and our results page shows named results from our boiler and HVAC work.
Results and reporting
We report the numbers that connect to revenue: calls and texts by source, booked jobs where your records show the source, cost per booked job, and rankings for a fixed list of boiler terms. If something isn't working, the report will show it and we'll discuss changing course.
A common question from owners who have been burned before: "How will I know you're not just keeping busy?" The answer is that every report ties activity to calls and bookings. If the link isn't there, you should question it, and so will we.
The newsroom
BoilerNews.ca reports on boiler codes, safety rules and programs because those changes drive what customers ask and search for. Stories are based on primary sources we load ourselves, carry the source's date, and end with labelled analysis. We don't run paid stories.
The newsroom and the marketing are run by the same company, and we're open about it. You can read every story without ever contacting us. See the newsroom for current stories and our about page for how the company is organised.
Before you hire any marketing company
Whether or not you work with us, ask any agency these questions before you sign:
- What exactly will you report each month, and how does it connect to booked jobs?
- Who owns the website, the domain, the ad accounts and the Google Business Profile? Get the answer in writing.
- What happens if I cancel? Ask how long notice is and what you keep.
- Who will I actually talk to? A named senior person, or a rotating account team?
- Can I see real, named results in my trade? And can I check them myself?
- What won't you do? A company that can't name anything it refuses to do probably hasn't thought about it.
If an agency is vague on any of these, treat that as your answer. We expect to be asked the same questions, and we'll answer them in your proposal.
Common mistakes boiler owners make with marketing
- Buying ads before fixing the website. Paid clicks that land on a weak page cost more than they return.
- Treating boilers as a footnote. A furnace-first website with one boiler paragraph won't win boiler searches.
- Letting information go stale. Closed rebates and old code editions undermine trust.
Coverage
We work with boiler companies across Canada. Each province has its own boiler and gas regulators and its own mix of heating fuels, so our areas page has a page for every province and one for the three territories.
